Baraboo offers a number of parks and opportunities for outdoor recreation. The Baraboo River flows through the town. A river walk is constructed offering almost two miles of walking trails, with benches to enjoy the scenic views along the way. Devil's Lake State Park is along the edge of town, providing camping, beaches, hiking trails and beautiful views.
The downtown area in Baraboo keeps its historic feel, but offers a vibrant selection of shops and restaurants. Several festivals and parades take place each year, bringing the community together. The Al. Ringling Theatre, built in 1915, offers movies and live performances downtown. Baraboo is also home to Circus World Museum, a museum with a collection of circus memorabilia relating to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. The museum promotes the connection between the circus and the Ringling Family, of Baraboo.
