More about the Village of Belleville, Wisconsin

Belleville’s history begins in the mid 1800s, and the original public grounds are on the National Register of Historic Places. More recently, an active arts community provides music at Belleville Library Park during the summer, and a variety of theater productions. For the outdoor enthusiast, Lake Belle View and the Sugar River provide opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and more. A variety of hiking and biking trails add to the outdoor feel of the village. The Badger State Trail (part of Ice Age Trail) runs through the area, and connects to a river walk built in 2014, leading to downtown Belleville. The annual Belleville Lake Fest celebrates the restoration of Lake Belle View and provides activities for the whole family.

Belleville Real Estate Overview

Many of the homes in Belleville are newer construction properties, with many houses built after 1990. There are building opportunities in Shamrock Hills. Ranch and bi-level homes are common, as are Colonial homes. Downtown Belleville includes homes built as early as 1900. The county lines divide the village, so many neighborhoods are part of Dane County, and the rest are in Green County.

Belleville Schools

Belleville has its own school system. Public schools include an elementary school housing 4K-1st grades, an intermediate school for 2nd-6th grades, a middle school for 7th-8th grades, and a high school.
