Hunting and fishing are popular activities in and around Black Earth. The village is home to Black Earth Creek, a class 1 trout stream. The stream is recognized as one of the 100 best trout fishing streams in North America. In addition, 17,000 acres of public hunting land surround the village. Other popular outdoor opportunities include the nearby Ice Age Trail, and a variety of bike riding routes, including the Horribly Hilly Hundreds bike race, which includes a stop in Black Earth. The chamber of commerce sponsors concerts in the park weekly in June and July. August offers the annual Field Days, a weekend of family oriented activities, kickball tournaments, and live music.
