Investing In Our Community

Home is more than the property where you reside. It’s also the schools, neighborhoods, parks, and organizations you connect with nearby. 

At Mad City Dream Homes, we are committed to helping make Dane County a better place to live, work, learn, and recreate. Here are a few ways our team is becoming more intentional with investing our time, talent, and resources in the communities we serve. 

Supporting area nonprofits 

Our agents and staff members are engaged with several local nonprofit organizations -- especially those focused on promoting social and racial justice, providing affordable housing, and protecting the environment -- through volunteerism, pro bono work, and matching donations. 

• We created a community outreach specialist position in 2020 to build the capacity of nonprofit organizations we partner with as well as to create systems that help them carry out their work for the long-term in a sustainable manner. 

• We highlight nonprofits on our blog, newsletter, and social media each month to spotlight the great things they are doing in our community and how people can further support their work. 

• We're hosting events at our Monroe Street office that benefit organizations who are doing great work in our community. 

• We volunteer, sponsor, and support causes that our team members are passionate about.  

Buying local

Our team loves to support small businesses in the Madison and Dane County area. Whenever possible, we try to use our purchasing power to invest in the local economy. Some of our favorite places to buy gifts include Drumlin Ridge Winery, Gail Ambrosius Chocolatier, Dane County Farmers’ Market, and Orange Tree Imports near our office on Monroe Street. 

Joining partner groups 

Our impact in the community is amplified when we collaborate with other like-minded groups. That’s why Mad City Dream Homes has become members of local organizations such as the Monroe Street Merchants Association.

We know this is just the beginning of great things to come! We want to inspire more for-profit businesses to make a difference in their communities, too. Ultimately, we hope that Madison and the surrounding communities will become healthier and more equitable places to call home.
