As a writer and photographer, I enjoy listening to people tell their stories, finding creative ways to share them, and connecting with others in the process.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in 2010 at St. Norbert College studying English and art. Since then I have blended my passions for writing and photography as a community journalist, lifestyle photographer, publication designer and editor, nonprofit communications coordinator, and volunteer grant writer. In 2015, my husband and I purchased our first home on Madison’s west side, and I became fascinated with the real estate business.
In 2017, I joined the Mad City Dream Homes team in a part-time marketing and content role, taking photos and blogging about Dane County events, nonprofits, businesses, neighborhoods, and homes. During that time we formed a great partnership with the Foundation for Dane County Parks by donating our time, skills, and resources to support the nonprofit in raising money and awareness for our beautiful county parks system. We’ve created newsletters, managed mailing lists, developed social media content, written a grant to launch a new website, and taken photos to help enhance their impact on the community.
In November 2020, I transitioned to a full-time position as a marketing and community outreach specialist to expand this model to more nonprofits and better utilize my strengths and serve you and our communities. My time is split evenly between our team’s real estate marketing activities and activities that support nonprofit organizations in the Dane County area -- particularly those focused on promoting social and racial justice, providing affordable housing, and protecting the environment.
Is there a local nonprofit that is doing great things in our community but may need an extra boost to better fulfill its mission? I would love to learn more about why you support that organization or how you think we might be a good fit to collaborate with them -- either through a nonprofit spotlight article on our blog and newsletter, or potentially another type of partnership.
When I’m not working, you can likely find me biking, hiking the Ice Age Trail, birdwatching, taking nature photos, or curled up with my cats reading or writing children's books.
