More About Indian Hills & Spring Harbor

Most of the homes in Spring Harbor and Indian Hills were built in the first half to middle part of the 20th century. Local architecture features a varied selection of Cape Cod, colonial, bungalow, contemporary, and ranch style designs. The selection here also features many coveted properties located along Lake Mendota Drive and the scenic Lake Mendota shoreline. In recent years some of the original neighborhood dwellings have been replaced by larger, new construction homes. 

Local Parks and Recreation

The southwestern shores of Lake Mendota provide a beautiful backdrop to the Spring Harbor and Indian Hills neighborhoods. Boating and fishing opportunities are plentiful here, while Lake Mendota Drive provides a scenic route for walkers, bikers, and runners seeking to enjoy the outdoors along the lake. 

Many parks dot the neighborhood. Merrill Springs Park and Indian Hills Park are located on the eastern edge of the community. Spring Harbor Park and Beach are located in the center. Marshall Park is located near the western edge. The unique park at Kettle Pond is located just to the south on the other side of University Avenue. 

Indian Hills and Spring Harbor Schools

Indian Hills, Spring Harbor, and Mendota Beach are zoned to the Madison Memorial High School attendance area. Depending on location, children attend either Jefferson or Spring Harbor middle schools. All households are zoned to the Crestwood Elementary attendance area. For more information, we recommend you contact the Madison Metropolitan School District. 

Spring Harbor Neighborhood Association

The local homeowners' association is very active throughout the year. The association manages a website that provides regular updates on the activities in and around the area. Annual events include a neighborhood clean-up day, neighborhood garage sale, a Halloween party, and a 4th of July parade and picnic.
