If you're like most prospective sellers, you don't know where to begin with the home-selling process during the COVID-19 market. It's a confusing time for sure, but you can eliminate a lot of confusion by consulting with a professional and asking the right questions early on in the planning process. When you address the right questions, your next steps will become clear, and your overall plan for selling your home will begin to take shape.
We recommend answering these 2 key questions as you plan for your sale:
Question #1: Will you be moving out of your home before your showings begin?
Depending on your situation, you may have the opportunity to move into your next setting before any showings begin. Most sellers prefer this approach (if it is an option) because it limits their exposure to the general public. If this is the approach you take, then you should choose between one of two ways to stage your home.
Your first option is to work remotely with our professional stager, Debbie Lea, before you move out of your house. Your second option is to virtually stage your home after you have moved out and removed all of your belongings. Many sellers prefer virtual staging because it saves them time at a moment in life when they are already very busy. The images below show "before" and "after" photos for a room that has been virtually staged.
Question #2: If you'll be living in your home when showings begin, will you allow "in-person" showings, or "virtual" showings only?
By the time your staging is complete, you'll need to decide whether you'll allow physical walk-throughs of your home, or virtual tours only.
Now, more than ever, it pays to have a professional by your side
