The Crossing/Glacier Ridge Offers Outdoor Appeal

As another entry in our series of neighborhood profiles, The Crossing, also known as Glacier Ridge, has earned the attention of families and professionals for its attractive setting within Madison city limits. Its appeal begins with the large amount of green space, and several large parks along its borders. The Crossing is the kind of neighborhood where you'll find residents strolling along the sidewalks each evening, and taking advantage of the expansive trail network along its western edge.

The Ice Age Trail Park borders the community on the west side. This park provides beautiful space to hike and bike on wooded trails and natural prairies. We recently featured it here:

A little further west is the Reddan Soccer Park, a 60 acre facility that hosts more than 1,200 league games each year. The Badger Prairie Park is just south, across Cross Country Road. This area offers a spacious setting full of trails, open green space, picnic shelters, a dog park and play areas.

The Crossing also offers a broad selection of newer 3 and 4 bedroom homes, with many affordable options below $300,000. Neighbors enjoy the convenient location, with shopping, schools, parks and restaurants all nearby. Major employers, like Epic Systems, are just a short drive from The Crossing.

The Crossing's appeal continues with its easy access to shopping, services and restaurants. A grocery store, restaurants and other service related businesses are across the street along Maple Grove Road. Chavez Elementary is set along the eastern edge of the neighborhood.

The neighborhood includes several adjacent communities, including Glacier Ridge, Heather Glen and Ice Age Ridge.
