When it comes to hiring the right realtor, it can be very beneficial to reflect on a few good questions before choosing your agent. By asking the right questions upfront, you can feel confident that you've chosen the right agent to guide you along your buying or selling journey. With this spirit in mind, here are 4 key questions buyers and sellers should be asking before partnering with a realtor in this year's complex market

real estate agent interview questions

Four key realtor interview questions in 2021

1) As a seller, how should I price and market my home in order to take full advantage of this year's market?

2) As a buyer, how can you help me find my dream home when supply is so low?

3) What strategies do you recommend for writing an offer to purchase in this year's ultra competitive market?

4) I need to sell my current home in order to buy my next home. How can you help me effectively compete with all of the other buyers who don't have a home sale contingency?

More thoughts on choosing the right real estate agent

When you interview each agent, we recommend looking for specific recommendations in response to the above questions. Can the realtor offer guidance that is based on a proven track record in this year's market? And, does the agent ask you questions and focus on solutions that are tailored to helping you meet your goals? Or does he go into sales mode and launch into a presentation? As you interact with each agent your gut will tell you whether you're meeting with a salesperson or a consultant.

When you're interviewing real estate agents we also recommend researching each agent's online reviews and asking for client references. By doing your homework upfront, you'll give yourself peace of mind that you've hired the right professional.
