There are many ways to ring in the new year in Madison. If you're looking for some grown up entertainment, the Greater Madison Convention and Visitors Bureau has a link to a wide range of options.  But, if you're looking to incorporate a younger audience into the mix, Madison is ready to prove it's a family friendly city. There are several fun activities to be found, and all end with a big celebration at an age appropriate time.

First- the Madison Children's Museum has a family dance party planned for New Year's Eve. Visitors are invited to enjoy the museum during the day. At 3 p.m. visitors should head to the art room. The music will start and a dance party will ring in an early New Year. There will be a countdown at 4 p.m., complete with confetti, glow bracelets and sparkling juice. From here, you can bring everybody home and know the younger crowd had a satisfying party before bedtime.

Or, if your children are older, you may want to check out My Family New Year's Eve. This party is celebrating its 27th year in Madison, with a variety of stops available for the whole family to enjoy. All locations are available with one paid admission. KEVA Sports Center in Middleton will open from 2-8 p.m., offering open sports play, inflatables, performers, snacks and more. A 7:30 balloon drop will celebrate an early New Year here. Or, head to Monona Terrace, where from 2-8 p.m., you can enjoy jugglers, live music, physics demonstrations, inflatables, laser tag, circus "training" and so much more!  They are also offering a balloon drop at 7:30.

In addition, the Madison and Hartmeyer Ice Arenas are offering open skating from 3:30-6:30, complete with a glow party and disco balls. Hop around any or all of the My Family New Year's Eve locations with one pass. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $9 for adults and $7 for children ages 4-17. Kids 3 and under are free! The price is higher on the day of the event. Purchase ahead of time here.

No matter your age, the New Year's Eve options in Madison offer something for everyone. Make your plans, and enjoy the beginning of 2018!
